During the last few weeks, several media reports have suggested that the
Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) has spent more than USD
200 million to date. This information is incorrect, and the source for this
information is not the ECCC. From the inception of the court in 2006 until the
end of 2010, the total cost for the ECCC operations were USD 109.1 million, and
by the end of 2011, the total expenditure is estimated to be USD 149.8 million.
