This Khmer culture foundation heritage has been self-evaluated as highly superior. The answer is yes at that moment when 1000 years ago Hinduism had taught Khmer people to eat fresh meat, drink goat and cow milk, resist, kill enemies then explore new land and build Khmer Empire with thousand Temples.
300 years later, due to social and drastic religious change, this Khmer Empire had begun to disintegrate and damage enormously its own original Khmer culture establishment 800 years ago. From that time Khmer people have been becoming week, unable to defend themselves with a very large size land of Khmer Empire, causing several North West provinces to annex themselves to Siam. And at the same time, in the Southern part, Kampuchea Krom had also been in the disintegration process until the arrival of French’s Colonial. Because Buddhism had come, everything had been going in reverse as it’s taught Khmer not to kill animal for food or for any other purpose, so that majority poor Khmer Buddhist believers eat dead meat and spoil-salted fish (prahock). There were neither Khmer butchers nor Khmer fisherman. But there had still existed a lot people, who needed fresh meat or fresh fishes and there had been questions how to get them without slaughtering animals? This is the answer, why Khmer religious leaders and Khmer politicians at that time had closed their eyes to Vietnamese and Chinese settlements at the immigration sea gates in Kampuchea Krom delta land, since 300 years ago, because these people could catch fresh fish and kill animal for supplying Khmer food markets This is the reason why Khmer Krom monks, at that time, had been preaching to the local not to harm those Vietnamese immigrants, let them come for committing sin for us so that we, Khmer could get fresh fish and fresh meat as needed in the market for making foods offering to monks. They thought that Vietnamese and Chinese settlement had been important for Khmer so that Khmer could be maintaining Buddhism without committing sin of killing for meat at all. Businesses, which had been growing up, had encouraged more and more Vietnamese and Chinese to come and continued, in million more. And then there had been the arrival of French colonial, at which Vietnamese and Viet-Chinese-Khmer integrated population had already been reached three times more than genuine Khmers, mostly inhabited in remote farmer groups in Kampuchea Krom (actual South Vietnam). At that time, French colonial had also openly received million and million new Chinese arrivals with no need to carryout any paper works at all for just a quick fulfill empty economic growth in Indo-China as the whole, because those local indigenous Khmer, Lao even Viet were only farmers. There have been, all over Kampuchea Krom, business agglomerated concentrations into Chinese/Viet towns, from which most Khmer individual pulled themselves out one by one due to culture chock of seeing animals killing for food everyday in their surrounding residences. They have been eagerly moving to settle in remote farm land for being able to serenely continue practicing Buddhism. This has shown that Buddhist Khmer culture have been retreated in the face of social multi-ethnic integration in which Chen+Khmer+Yuon hybrid has been turning main stream Vietnamese. There have been number of Khmer individuals that could live along side with them but later on, their children have been melted into Vietnamese as million Chinese did. This Vietnamese social integration acceptance is the main factor of great importance for Vietnamese population multiplication growth, which has been so far 5 times more than genuine Khmers, which would slowly extinct then warmish away in a few decades ahead. This was how Khmer Krom is becoming minority Khmer ethnic on their own land. But their young Khmer generations are angry and pointing finger to Cambodian mainland leaders, including King Norodom Sihanouk, without realizing that this disastrous fault had been committed by their own Khmer Krom ancestors in the past at the Southern land. Is this the true fact of Vietnamese invasion? Or just Vietnamese and Chinese economic immigration settlement since 200 years ago before immigration law had been known to be adopted in relevance to internationals Unfortunately, Khmer people had been 90% Buddhism followers. They were self-malnutrition-inflicted, because they avoided killing for fresh meat. They just eat spoiled salted fish (prahock) or dead meat. They never raise pig, chicken but only cows and buffaloes not for killing for meat, but only for farm works, they will eat their meat only when those animals die from what ever the causes, even from disease. They turned idiots on blaming each other as they have no intelligence to use for solving problems facing them. At the end of French colonial, how Cambodian king Norodom Sihanouk could oppose France, that give Independence to South Vietnam, if minority Khmer ethnic, in Kampuchea Krom was 5 time less than Vietnamese (Viet-Chinese-Khmer/hybrid), as following the existence of universal human rights provision and democracy principal. There was no map for talking with France at that moment, Khmer said verbally their land and Vietnamese said orally their land, the fact was base on what? The answer was base on population number and their occupated lands of Khmer and Vietnamese: Le result is Khmer-1, Vietnamese-5.
