Buddhism is telling Khmer people not to kill annimals for food, so that is why Khmer krom had closed their eyes for Vietnamese setlement in South delta land. At that time Khmer Krom monks had preached to the locals not to harm them, let them come as much as they wanted for committing sin for us, So that we Khmer could have fresh mead and fish for making food for our monks.
