I strongly agree that many Cambodians today are happy with what they have. It's very simple. They have found themselves better now than they had ever been in the last five decades. There is no war. Many peole have been talking about Vietnamese are trying to colonize Cambodia and Laos as part of the indochina. Let me ask you to look at another similar situation that we saw in America. US government for the first time to open borders with Mexico and Canada as partners in a trade agreement. Many Americans cried loudly as Cambodians have been doing to the issue of Indochina idea. Today, AFTA is alive and well many years later. Many jobs have left America to Mexico. Many Companies have moved to Mexico in search for cheap labor and cost under AFTA agreement. Why are they not yelling as they did when it started? Because the idea of colonialism is just untrue. The idea of protectionism is just poison to think about it. Americans today enjoy consuming cheaper products made in Mexico and elsewhere around the world. If Levy's keeps their plants in America trying to produce products to compete in the American consumption, they would loose. Actually, they tried very hard to do that. They finally closed their doors in San Francisco and moved their operation overseas. That's the truth. So think about what you are saying. Finally, I just can't understand why Cambodians still blame Vietnamese for their own illnesses. First Sihanouk, their beloved king, sold their country sovereingty to China and Vietnam during Vietnamese war. Yet, Cambodians still love the king until today. Second, their own people took over and killed their own people in millions. They also brought their own country to ground zero. Yet, Cambodians still blame Vietnamese. Now, their own people are leading Cambodia to where it is today. They don't like it. Yet, they blame Vietnamese. In all of those instances, all of players at all time are Cambodians. They may or may not be influenced by Vietnamese. Yet, they are the ones who carry policies in their own country over their own people. So don't blame Vietnamese for Cambodian illnesses. Blame Cambodians who have destroy their own country with their own hands. Blame those who corrupt and practice the culture of impunity over their own people in their own country. That's real. Vietnamesenization is just an accusation. It may be true. Yet, it will happen if Cambodians allow it to happen. Cambodians are not victims here. They are major players all along whether you like it or not. Look at it. They destroy their own people in their own country by using other nations to help them. Look at the history. It tells the truth.
