*Perhaps a serious mistake of Khiev Samphan's defense came when they 
decided to put his wife on the stand. In a criminal trial, a witness on the 
stand is subject to cross examination. They thought that she could shed 
some lights on Khiev Samphan's attitude and behavior, what kind of person 
he is. They accomplished that. However, they perhaps didn't think that the 
prosecutors could dig down to what she heard and saw while she was with the 
Khmer Rouge. I strongly believe that it is a serious mistake. *
