http://www.cambodiadaily.com/archive/report-to-us-congress-paints-poor-picture-of-cambodia-32646/

As an American citizen, I agree with the report, except two items.
If we are going to teach them democracy, we have to use the proper way, be it
with the
dictator or not. First, Raingsy broke the law of their land the same way as
Edward Snowden
who broke the US law. It is even more ridiculous that Raingsy was a law maker.
He was acting
as judge and the executer, all three at once. Can any congressman tell me which
democracy book
can be used to teach the dictator? Using double standard won't cut it.

The second item is  the expel of the 27 opposition legislators from the
National Assembly,
an action which was quickly condemned by the U.S.
Unlike the US Constitution, Cambodian constitution has a lot of problems that
are needed to
be fixed or amended.  Those 27 opposition legislators were elected from their
political parties
and there is nothing written in the Cambodian constitution of what to do when
their political
parties are no longer exist while they are still serving their term. When it is
not in the constitution,
it is up to each individual to interpret it. As role model, we should recommend
them to make the
proper amendment to their constitution to prevent the same thing from happening
again, instead
of condemning them. Do they have the right to interpret their own constitution,
 either we like it
or not?
Who wrote this report any way? Ka Pret?
