http://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/provinces-get-protest-sites I am wondering if CNRP, especially their leaders had ever thought of how much they will gain from their so-called peaceful demonstration/protest and how much the CPP will draw some benefit from it. As long as the demonstration is peacefull at the Freedom Park, the CPP will be very happy to issue the permit for CNRP. By doing so, the CPP has shown the world that they don't oppress freedom of assembly. The CPP will definitely not use forceunless the peaceful demonstration become violent. If it become violent, the CNRP leaders will become like ants crawling on a hot frying pan. The CPP had repeatly warned again and again that they will prosecutethe CNRP leaders if the demonstration become riot or violent.
http://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/wing-and-prayer-0 It may look like Haven knew in advance about Raingsy intention. So, the Son of Haven had answered Raingsy's pray by issuing a command before even the day Raingsy will pray to Haven, telling both parties to resolve their difference and obey the Constitution Council for final decision. Therefore a day after Raingsy pray at the Freedom Park, the Constitution Council will announce their decision. I will see donkeys flying all over the sky if they announce Raingsy victory for this election. Boycotting the swearing day? If the CNRP is using the constitution as hostage by not showing up at that day, the Constitution Council might step in. Swearing day is the first duty of the newly elected candidate as the first day to work as deputy of National Assembly. As Khmer citizen, they have the right to strike. But, there is nothing under the Constitution saying that the newly elected candidate for National Assembly has the right not to show up at his/her first day as deputy of the National Assembly. So, since it is related to the Constitution, it won't surprise me if the Constitution Council will view this as abandoning his/her post and replace him/her with a candidatefrom other parties in order to fulfill article 76 of the Constitution(at least 120 members). The bottom line is Raingsy gains nothing much from this ultra grand peaceful demonstration. And when all the smoke had settled down, Raingsy might take the bribe offered by the CPP in order to become deputy of the National Assembly. If he even form a new government with the CPP, his followers, especially the young and restless will be greatly disappointed. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cambodia Discussion (CAMDISC) - www.cambodia.org" group.
