As we've seen the situation in Cambodia with the demonstration, we almost understand that Cambodians really don't know what democracy and free speech really are. First, let us look at the democratic process. It is impossible to believe that Cambodians really want a true democracy. Many of them strongly believe the facts of current situation like in America and many other developed countries around the world. Cambodia is not set up for a true democracy yet. Here are whys? 1- They don't have election provincial and city government. The government appoint them. 2- They don't elect prime minister. He is picked by the people representative. 3- The laws of the land do not set up for the people to elect their government. 4- The government has no checks and balances due to the creation of current Cambodian constitution. Second of all, we want to define free speech in Cambodia. As we've seen many events happening in Cambodia, many Cambodians believe that their illegal acts would be justified as long as their actions are just caused. I'm sorry. wrong doing cannot be right no matter what. Let 's look at Sam Rainsy and his supporters who are demonstrating against their government. Let us believe that the current government was created illegally as CNRP claimed for the moment. The demontrator believe that their acts would be justified or legal immune from the laws as long as they demonstrate peacefully. Let us face the tune here. They are broadcasting openly that they are against the government and want Hun Sen to step down. That alone is not to change what believe in the last election. This demonstration alone is to change the government. Their request to resolve of the election irregularities now have changed to demonstration against Hun Sen government. This is very clear from the voice of the leaders of CNRP and its followers. My friend, CNRP and its followers have changed their mission from demonstration against the resolve of the last election into a movement to change and be against current government. i strongly believe that foreign countries will not support this kind of act. Cambodia is a sovereign country. If they put their hands into Cambodia matter, those foreign countries now have declared acts against Cambodia. USA cannot take that? Those demonstration perhaps could not understand it. USA today still has deplomatic ties with current government of Cambodia. Eventhough they like the movement of CNRP, they cannot fist for the consequiences of pulling out their diplomatic relation with Cambodia. That just has to be too much loss. Americans cannot loose strategies in loosing a part of a global presence for USA interest politically or economically.
