Philosophy turns against you when it is used too much on theory and not enough action. The same thing applies to ideology. Cambodians have plenty of ideas and dreams. Yet, that's all they have. They never really use to benefit their own country. Beside they concentrate so much on ideology, and not enough on action to improve their lives. Unfortunately, their ideology brings them to look at who is doing right and who is doing wrong. They completely forget their ideology to rebuild the country. Here is an example. Khmer Rouge brought ideology to move the country forward. They had plenty of it. it was seeping all the way to the individuals at the bottom level. Can you imagine how powerful they could have been if they used that strength for the interest of the country? Unfortunately, Cambodians turned to their traits. They looked at what was right and what was wrong. They stated to killing its own people. Khmer Rouge brought themselves down to ground zero. And the people went along with them.
The same theme can be seen throughout Cambodian history. Cambodians cannot learn because they are hooked to their ideology without enough action. Let us face it. Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha have been preaching about their ideology if you call that. And they can't even get themselves to take the responsibility for their own acts as leaders. Instead, they put the burden onto the people. They always say that the people wanted this and that etc..... They said that the people empowered them to act that way or this way. Why can't they come out with their true ideology and bring the people to accept it? In conclusion, the people of Cambodia know very little about improving their own country. Instead, they only know how to destroy each other in their own country. Let me remind all of you who believe in the greatness of the American politics that American political strength lies on the ability to come together for the interest of the country. They rise to stand behind the president when the troops were fighting a war even when they disagree with the president of why he sent our military to war. Cambodians don't have that . Today, yesterday and tomorrow are the same. They individually want the power to themselves. They are the right ones while the others are wrong. It happened in the 60s, 70s. 80s, 90s, 2000s, and now in 2010s. Cambodia have risen from their death in 1979 until today. It has been more than three decades. Look at where they have come from economically. Yet, they still remain the same in their indulgence of ideology without enough actions for the interest of the country. Garment industries have been a major life line for Cambodia. Today, they are trying to destroy it for an ideology, good or bad. My friend, You must walk before you can run. You must be doing it together if you want to succeed. You can't divide if you want the country to move forward. Now, some of you ask whether it is fair for the government and the owners of garment factories to act as such? Let us ask what fuel the economy in Cambodia? Cambodians? NO Cambodians overseas? NO Foreign investors? EXACTLY Remember! Investors invest to gain on their own term. If they can't do it, they would not invest. Simple. The international community have been pouring billions of dollars to invest in Cambodia every year. Is that a good sign? Yet, it is. We have seen lesser people now are living out of poverty. Some of you may disagree. Garment industries have put a major dent on poverty throughout Cambodia. That is just a piece of it. Today, Cambodians have come a long way to where they are. They have forgotten completely where they have come from. Today, Cambodians want to be like America, China etc....... I'm sorry. That's not going to happen. Cambodian today economy is relied solely on foreign investors. Their rich natural resources have been cultivated by foreign investors. Cambodians have not resources to deal with it. Unfortunately, too much ideology has come to haunt them again. They blame foreign investors for what they have today. They are obsolutely right. Those investors came to cut thick forest, use cheap labor, destroy their livelihood etc..... They are happening today. Many Cambodians today think that their country has been destroyed by those investors. Let us face the facts here. Cambodia would have not money if there is no foreign investors. Their rich soil and natural resources would just be there for the looks. So what do Cambodians really want? Economy or ideology? Finally, these are facts about Cambodia. We can go on and on when we come to think about the lives of the people. Today, they have plenty of growing. Yet, their ideology is telling them to put a brake on it because it is hurt to see their natural resources being destroyed. It is so hard to see people earn so little to produce products to sell for so much in other countries. Unfortunately, that is the facts of life. If America can produce cheaper in Cambodia, they would go there. If America can do the same in their country, they would produce it in their own country. If America can produce cheaper in Bangladesh than Cambodia, they would move to Bangladesh. That's the fact of life. If Cambodians want to destroy those rich foreign investors who have sucked so much blood from Cambodian workers, then that is the fate of Cambodian economy. Foreign investors will invest in other part of the world after they are kicked out Cambodia. They are not going to die. Cambodians on the other hand will be hurt by the loss of jobs and income. My friends, Look at yourself. Look at the strength of the government. Look at your infrastructure. Those are important elements for investors to come and invest in the people of Cambodia. They are not going to invest with instability. Actually, they would leave because they are not going to loose their money for any uncertainties. Think about your country and your own livelihood. Cambodians cannot stand their own feet today. Not too many countries can. Don't let your idelogy dictate your own destiny. Ideology is good only when it is being used to get ahead. Let me say it again please. IDEOLOGY IS GOOD ONLY WHEN IT IS BEING USED TO GET AHEAD.
