Thanks for the various suggestions guys. Some of it's a bit over my head, although I get the general idea. I had a quick look at @Autowired and it seems to do something useful, however it was introduced in Spring 2.5 and AMQ/Camel appear to use Spring 2.0.6. Am I right in this thought?
I will follow the route of annotations further and see if I can get something to work (we have people in the office with more Spring experience than me fortunately!) and let you know how it turns out.
