Subject: Re: Running Camel standalone

This sounds like a good new FAQ entry :)

Hi Thomas

Yes Camel can run standalone or in any container. Running Standalone is eg. Just to create a CamelContext, add routes and start it.

You can get some details here:
http://activemq.apache.org/camel/getting-started.html

And the standalone example here:
http://activemq.apache.org/camel/walk-through-an-example.html

The FAQ have some more details.
http://activemq.apache.org/camel/faq.html

And if you use Maven for your projects Camel have some maven tools for you to boot up standalone and quickly run you Camel application
http://activemq.apache.org/camel/camel-maven-plugin.html

This is how you can run the examples that is included in the Camel distribution. In Camel 1.4 we will also have ANT build.xml files to quickly start the examples standalone.

Subject: Running Camel standalone

Hi,

I have just started looking at Camel;

Is it possible to start Camel as a standalone app, without embedding
it in another application ?

Cheers,

Thomas
