That's a very interesting article on UV photography. I played with some UV
photography recently and
got back erm, no results. Used a Super Tak (monocoated) 50/1.4 , Provia and
a black UV filter.
Guess the lens has too much glass. Maybe Provia wasn't the right film...but
someone suggested it
works.
Since we can't use most glass lenses except possibly some tessars (as you
suggested) ... any
suggestions which cheap lenses are of a tessar design?
Furthering your idea of using mirror lenses as an alternative, how about
using a Holga
which has a plastic lens? Would light leakage be a major problem with UV
photography?
And besides, being somewhat scale focus, fixed aperture and having a
viewfinder composition,
there is a lot less to worry about.
I'd just mount the black UV filter on top of the lens and compose with the
viewfinder.
AND...the Holga has a widish angle 60mm lens.
