Sherm, Here's another book to check out... Zone VI Workshop by Fred Picker. If you're going to all the trouble to build/buy a large format camera go all the way and learn the Zone System as well. Fred is a VERY opinionated S.O.B. and I don't take everything he teaches about the Zone System as Gospel but you gotta start somewhere and his approach will get you started. Fred's kind of the ultimate home builder, too. He designed and had built to his specs the Zone VI cameras, enlargers, and darkroom equipment.
