The only solvent that really works on gooey foam adhesive is a product
called "Goof Off". If you can not find this product, Xylene works just as
well. Be carefull not to get any hint of it on plastic! This means if you
get some on your fingers, blow them completely dry before touching any
plastic, just wiping on paper towels wont work. 

Try a small jewelers screwdriver to get the majority of the goo off
first. Be especially carefull when cleaning the mirror box, use only a
slightly damp Q-Tip to wipe the goo off.
