Hello!

i have a project I could use a bit of advice on. I don't have a grasp on
the mathmatics to calculate what i am trying to do.

I want to modify a Holga 6x6 plastic lens camera to cover a 4x5 or 5x7
negative. I relize to cover say a 4x5 neg the distance from the lense to
the film must be extended. I also understand the facus will become
close-up. I am hoping to get close-up shallow focus still lfes on 4x5 and
5x7 Dag. plates.

So, how far from the rear lens element of the lense should a 4x5 sheet of
film be placed to get equivalent coverage? Currently, the holga covers a
6x6cm neg at a distance of 6cm. So would a 4 inch distance cover the
4x5"?

Now how can I calculate where the focus will be to the subject? I'd be
happy with calculating a fixed focus and just place an apple or flower at
a predetermined distance.

I may jues attach the holga lens to an old polaroud 4x5 pack camera.

Thanks in advance.

Mac
