I have had no trouble with making groundglasses at all...I purchased some valve grinding compound from my local auto-accesssories store (among socket sets and exhaust pipe tailpieces!) for a very reasonable cost (there's enough for about 100 20 x 24 inch groundglasses, if you catch my drift!)I stuck the sheet of glass I wanted ground down (3mm windowglass) with blu-tack to my benchtop, and used another, smaller (credit-card sized) piece of glass as a polisher. Every so often I'd take it outside and wash it with the garden hose to see how "ground" it was...but I'm delighted with the results. A lot easier than some of teh poistings I see here?
