I am not sure I understand the comment "Betcha they weren't polished to as good a figure...." If they were not well figured, how did they reach diffraction-limited performance (as has been reported in previous postings in this series)? Conversely, who needs the better figure if diffraction-limited performance is achieved with less?!!!
