Dear Barry,
I spotted your site on the Internet and am writing
to see whether you could offer any help. I recently removed the front element of
aan Agfa Solinar lens because it was completely gummed up with old lubricant. I
noted carefully exactly where the element left its threaded barrel, but for the
life of me I can't get it back on. It goes on for about three quarters of a turn
and then stops dead and I don't want to force it. Is there any special technique
for lining up the threads? As far as I can see with a 10x magnifier, there seems
to be four thread starts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards,
