I'm a bit late here but as the owner of a Toyo 45G (and a 23G, for that matter), I thought I'd chime in with my opinion...
Based upon my experience, I think the front standard is probably up to the task but as others have pointed out, you'll need to figure out a way to position the lens slightly higher. A good machinist should be able to make longer uprights for the rise mechanism (they're only held in place by a single screw at the bottom) or you can offset the mounting rail for the front standard from the rear standard by cutting it and welding both sides to something like a 1/4" piece of flat aluminum... However, a better choice might be the front standard from the 810G as it has 145mm of rise instead of 70mm and stands about 2" taller than the 45G front standard. The uprights are about 50% thicker than the 45G uprights, and the rail clamp is also longer and more rugged than the 45G clamp. If this were my project, this is definitely the direction I'd go on this. The only downside is that 810Gs tend to sell for quite a bit more than 45Gs (although one did sell for just over $400 on eBay not too long ago. I'd have bought it myself but I'd just purchased a $227 45G and decided that was enough for the week!)
