For B&W work, small fluctuations in color temperature and output are tolerable, so most supplies with adequate power will work. However, do not exceed the maximum voltage recommendation for the bulb(s), and actually measure the voltage when connected to the bulb(s) or a 100 W household lamp as a load. For color work, you will have fewer problems with a regulated power supply which will avoid color shifts during peak demand.
