The easiest way to get lens spacing is to research the shutter it was in. If you find compur and copal shutter specs, you'll have spacing for all, or nearly all, relatively contemporary lenses. At least, I think that's what you're looking for.

Just measured my 1960 Symar (found my vernier calipers!) serial no.
6982571, spacing is 20.00mm.
