Hi,

I filed two requests for the new download manager, both included many suggestions. One is still open (#230015) and the other (#230013) has been closed by Mike. I still think it included a few interesting suggestions and I wanted to ask what the other subscribers think.

The old download manager was auto resizeable. This sometimes resulted in a very big window, but basically this is a handy feature. The other thing which changed was that new downloads are added to the bottom instead of the top. What do you think, what was better?

Another solution to clean that window up automatically is to never show more than a predefined number of downloads. IE/Mac hat an option for that.

Another annoying thing is, that there is now visual feedback when a download is started. When the downloads window is in the background you'll never notice that the download started. Bringing the downloads window to the foreground is annoying, too. Any suggestions? One idea would be to create a toolbar icon which opens the download manager and to change the icon of it when downloads are running.

Regards,

  MG
