Here's an idea for a patch I'm thinking of trying: you'd click on a toolbar folder to drop down it's menu, and then control-click on one of the items to drop down a "sub-contextual menu" (containing Delete, Get Info, etc) that would apply to just that item.
Admittedly, this is *really* non-standard HCI - do people think it would confuse people too much, or have suggestions on a better way to do it? My thinking goes like this: the "bookmark contextual-menu" functionality is already "sort of" hidden (you don't see it if you don't look), and since you expect to be able to apply a right-click to a (single item) bookmarks, you should be able to do the same for bookmarks in folders.
