The rounded tabs look beautiful, but they seem rather divorced from the pages they represent. In the nightlies, the tabs flow right into the pages they're "tied to." This is much better than Safari, where the tabs are upside down (dumb, although they make it work somehow--I don't know how many people notice it).

So I'd rather have the tabs in the nightlies because they hold the visual metaphor much better, even though the other tabs looked great. Not that things are changing at this point...

Because if they were, I'd beg for a history pop out menu (showing history for all tabs) that I could use on the fly instead of going into the "Show History" window (y'know, because the Back button only shows history for the current tab). Maybe even a History button I could put in the toolbar if I want that pops up my last couple of days history if I clicked and held down on it...

:-)

PS--Aren't the "new" tabs in the nightlies the way they used to be a long time ago? To me it seems like they changed at some point to the pretty button style and now have changed back.

I downloaded the 0.8.2 build that Mike noted on his website. It works
great, but the tabs are back to the bars instead of the folder tabs
that they used to be.

When the tabs became the bar, they looked cool but weren't visually
functional (I thought). I liked it when they went back to actual folder
tabs.

Are they going back to the bar, or was that just a cosmetic mistake in
the build?

Just wondering....

Regardless of issues relating to "trunk" or "branch," I think that the "new tabs" as represented in the nightlies are far less visually compelling than what they used to look like (i.e. they way they "look" in build 2004082512 (v0.8.1). In this build, the top right and left edges of the "tab" are rounded, making it look like a tab. the "new tabs" have no" tab-ness" to them, they are only a series of horizontally placed rectangular boxes. They ain't tabs! IMHO, they are ugly and don't properly represent the functionality.

I'm 100% with Dave here.
