Drawers really are a cumbersome UI element. While they were everywhere in OS X 10.0, they are become an endangered species as of late, and for good reason. Even Apple is removing the side drawer from Mail in Tiger.

The current bookmark implementation is really quite superior to the side drawer. Not only does it not take up any additional space, it allows for the enhanced functionality that we currently have, like the search function.

I do like OmniWeb's tab implementation, but wish that it wasn't in a side drawer. The mere ability to see your tab visually is very useful. Loading a folder of 15 or more tabs can be quite taxing on the CPU, but it's still a very useful feature. Actually, this is still a problem for Camino, and it doesn't even draw an icon of the page like OmniWeb. For some reason, Safari and Firefox seem to do the best with loading 15 or so tabs at once, and not bringing the app to a crawl while doing so.

Overall, I think Camino has the right plan with it's current bookmarks system.
