Hi,
this post is aimed at developers (mike, sfraser) on the upcoming evolution of the gfx component in the mozilla tree. I'm posting here because I assume that most Mozilla mac developers have subscribe to this list. I might post this to the n.p.m.* groups, but would like to hear the ideas of old time mozilla developers on the subject.
Roc gives a little roadmap of what he intends to do for mozilla 2.0 on the graphics rendering side of mozilla at <http://wiki.mozilla.org/wiki/Mozilla2:GFXEvolution>. Cairo seems nice but only seems available and think with X11 in mind the quartz page (<http://www.cairographics.org/QuartzBackend>) does not seems alive.
Do you think this is the correct path for the graphics systems (Macintosh wise) ? If so shouldn't the developers be working on improving Cairo (quartz wise), instead of the current gfx implementation ?
How would such a move affect Camino and it's cocoa widgets ?
