When I Command Click on a link that is set to _blank target it opens it
in a new tab.... Just tried it...

I am able to middle click to open in a new tab as well, however I
think I set that up with my mouse application.
Also if you haven't checked out Cocoa Mouse Gestures.... you should,
it's a great FREE app that allows you to set each Cocoa app to use
mouse gestures.... like right click and drag to the left to go back
in history, or to the right to go forward... up to open new tab, down
to close tab... up and down to refresh page.... there are tons of
settings in it.
