I'm just curious as to why you keep a 1000 day history.

Could the User's history be added as a submenu of the "Go" menu, or at least

Thanks for considering.

Jason

Along simlar lines, I've noticed that history becomes completely unusable
when it's huge. For example, I have history set to 1000 days, which is a
pretty hefty file - about 19 megs. When I go to view the history list, it
takes like, half an hour to display, literally (I timed it, once... usually
I just force quit, when I do this by mistake). Completely unusable, of
course. (I use the 'last 1000 sites' feature of URL Manager Pro, when I
actually want quick normal access to recent history.)

One way I think this could be fixed would be to have the UI only load
selected portions of the history file, controlled by hierarchical
disclosure triangle UI elements that correspond to year and month. This
way, the user could drill down to just the particular month or months when
they think they browsed the item, without the app having to parse and
display the entire history file.

The Find command, should be 'scopable' as well - i.e. you should be able to
select just the year, or year/month(s) that you want to search, and search
just within those.

Actually -- none of this is my real preference, but rather, methods that I
think would allow searching or browsing thru the history to be sped up. If
the interface could be kept exactly how it is, but sped up to be usable
(with large history files), that would be fine too.

Thoughts?

Will all of this be rendered moot by Spotlight in 10.4; i.e. will Camino
take advantage of Spotlight in this way, i.e. just rely on Spotlight to
manage history?
