Install the JEP first (or upgrade to a recent nightly build; tons of fixes have been included since 0.8.4) and see if the problem persists.
If the problem still occurs, then open a bug (preferably after you've found at least one site with a Java applet where leaving that site always crashes Camino). Check in a nightly before filing the bug, though, because that's the first thing we'll ask you to do when you file a bug against 0.8.4 at this point in the development cycle....

It's a fairly-low-volume list with more users than developers or QA folks (and the latter groups are often quite busy); if you want a higher-volume/more active "branch" of the Camino community, check out the Camino forum on MozillaZine <http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=12> :-)
