Have you considered adding a bookmarklet to your bookmark bar? (JavaScript
required).

dictionary.com offers bookmarkets for dictionary and thesaurus lookup in
their "Tools" section; I used the "More compatible buttons" for All browsers
versions (at the bottom of the page):
   http://dictionary.reference.com/tools/bookmarklets.html

I also made one for Wikipedia by modifying the JavaScript code appropriately.
