That feature already exists. By making a file in Application Support
--> Camino--> SearchURLList.plst

After creating that document and adding your chosen search engines
they will appear in the Search Field assuming you've added it to your
Camino Title bar. I originally created  mine with BBEdit but the
Property List editor in the developer tools will also do an excellent
job of creating this document.
