You may all have thought: "What the hell is he talking about?!"
And mostly you're absolutely right: History Back and return form bookmark use the cache and are instant — in most cases… When I wrote this post I must have been browsing http:// arstechnica.com/ where this is not the case, and, falling into the trap of noticing something only when it's missing, I assumed incorrectly that this was always like that.

Now why is Ars Technica's site like that?
Do they force a Refresh on History Back?

If I want to make sure the page's contents is up to date I can always hit refresh, but, generally, when I just want to go back one or a couple of pages or hide the bookmarks I'm perfectly satisfied with being presented just what I had seen earlier.
