I know that the bugs in font rendering in Tiger are part of Core, not
specifically Camino, but bear with me for a second.

I was downloading Firefox 2 RC to play with it and the font issues in it were
terrible. I couldn't figure out why it had "regressed" so badly, and then I
looked at the font settings. Its default is Times 16pt, whereas my Camino
1.0.3 is using Times 14pt (and has only one font problem: underlines don't get
all the way to the end in larger type).

It also appears that 16pt font is not "selectable" when you go to choose a
font -- you have to hand-enter that. When I use any of the font sizes that
are selectable, I don't have font problems (except again with the underlines).

Does this also work for other people? If so, should picking 14 or 18pt font
be the default in Camino until the bug is fixed? I annotated this against
Core bug #288047, but this is just to see if expediency holds here.
