An interesting bug but.. > > That's largely the state of affairs (although ctrl-click vs, > right-click might produce some variation); see bug 312714 > <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312714> for more of the > gory story. >
after all is said and done, _no one_, _no program_ should be able to reach into my computer and alter the way it is intended to work. That is a violation of how many basic human interface guidelines? In the say vein, I think mIRC's implementation of colours in irc text is the same kind of violation. It is most noticeable when some user chooses to prescribe black as the colour for his text to be displayed in even though my chosen background colour is black. As a security measure to prevent copyright infringement it is pretty feeble since there are any number of programs which will easily reach behind and copy the said documents with no problem at all. A much easier and less easily defeated way of preventing copying is the use of invisible gifs or png's over the documents. That's not undefinable either but infinitely more confusing at first. Basically website creators and authors ought not to be able to or allowed to reach beyond the bounds of their own sites into my computer. Cheers, David P.S. I didn't see a new bug reported on that page, hopefully one will be opened and show up in the new bugs list at some point. -- David Fedoruk "Music is enough for one's life time, but one life time is not enough for music" Sergei Rachmaninov _______________________________________________ Camino mailing list [email protected] http://mozdev.org/mailman/listinfo/camino
