Sorry, Stuart, but are you serious?! If this has never been filed as an enhancement request, it's certainly only because it is just totally obvious. It has certainly been mentioned here in the list. I myself referred to it at least twice. My guess is that everybody has just been patiently sitting and thinking "They'll get around to it." Personally, I thought this issue was tied to the equivalent feature in Firefox, which, if I recall correctly, was to be included with FF2 and is now slated for FF3, using a lightweight database (SQLite?) for bookmark storage. It is definitely a feature I have been most looking forward to, as, like I said, it is just so obvious.
