I happen to have noted one of my (prod) reindexes (mysql), which was: 2015/07/21 23:33:12 Scanned prefix "meta": 124381 rows, 248.788647ms
Which is 501536 rows/s VS 820 rows/s for you, so yeah, much faster. But I think that reindex was almost a year ago though. And it's apples to oranges if you're not using mysql oc.
