Natalie went in last Friday for what was suppose to be a routine eye appt because I was concerned that her eyes were crossing a little bit. What the Optomologist discovered was that her eyes were crossing because her optic nerves are swollen. She has been scheduled for an MRI at CHKD this upcoming Friday because his is concerned that fliud build up in her brain may be causing the optic nerve swelling. If there is fluid build up in her brain she will be referred to neurology for followup. Please keep her in your thoughts Friday morning. She is also sceduled for her one year well baby checkup next week and a followup checkup with cardiology to check out the current status of her 2 tiny heart defects. She's going to be spending a few days seeing Drs at the Children's Hospital these next 2 weeks. I also need to call Encronology this week to see what's up with her lab results which showed her to have a very low level of one type of growth factor. So much going on with such a little girl. Although she seems to have started to grow now and has even gotten a little chubby these days. I think she's somewhere between 16.5 and 17 lbs now. Even with all of the above going on she is always smiling and just the happiest baby ever. She still has no teeth, she can sit unassisted for a long time now and even started crawling combat style last night.
