We're about to head out to Grandparentland for 10 days...so this will be my last update for awhile.
Sascha is a crazy climbing girl. She loves the jungle gym and the big slides at the playground and isn't scared at all. Of course Mama is terrified, but I try to hide it (and I do insist on going on the big slides with her, though Matt lets her go by herself). She has been in the pool a few times but doesn't really like it. Puzzles are her thing right now. She has about 5 of them and is really good at them. Some are the crepe rubber kind and some are the one-piece-per-hole kind, but the pieces are different shapes. I didn't think this was a big deal until my pediatric nurse friend visited and kind of freaked out because she's about a year ahead of her age in that area. I told her I was staying as blissfully unaware as I could about these things so I wouldn't get anxious if she wasn't doing something she was supposed to. ;) She also loves shoes. This morning she tried on my Grinch fuzzy slippers, then asked me to put them on and got miffed when I didn't want to wear them downstairs to work. :) Other favorites are books, her doll, her fisher-price walker (which she says is her car) and her Mardi Gras beads. She's added a couple of verbal words (baby and yummy) and sometimes will chatter a lot and not really say anything. She's also added a few signs (some she made up herself, like "playground" and "running") and picked up some that we've shown her before but they never sank in, I guess (like "boy"). She still doesn't say "no", just shakes her head no. She is great with new people in our house now. She's still slow to warm up in big groups (so are Mom and Dad, though!) -- we had a neighborhood picnic on Sunday and it took her about an hour to get used to everything. Then she had a great time. She still loves helping with sweeping, cooking, feeding the cat, etc. She also loves brushing her teeth now because I let her sit on the edge of the sink so she can see herself in the mirror. Her new favorite food is pistachios! I am hoping she'll enjoy this trip...we got quite a few new books for the plane flight, and will bring some crayons and paper. Beyond that I'm not quite sure what to bring to keep her occupied...if anyone else has ideas, I'd love to hear them! :) Nancy --- You are currently subscribed to nov02 as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------ Yahoo!
