Every Website Needs This� Hi Nelayan, Today's newsletter is about traffic, and how to go about driving lots of it to your website. Before you rush to put your helmet on, don't worry I'm NOT going to be bombarding you with accolades for John Reese and his Traffic Secrets package. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for mine to arrive, but I'm not about to recommend something to you that I haven't tried for myself. Swiftly on... As you know, I recently put my latest website online last weekend at DropCapitals.com. I hope those of you that downloaded a complimetary set of images were very pleased with them. The feedback I have had so far is extremely encouraging, and I would like to thank again, everyone that took the time to e-mail me with their comments. Incidently, if you have already managed to put any of my Drop Capital images up on your site, I would love to see what they look like on your web pages. So please do drop me a line. Now, although my site has been online for about a week, I have yet to drive any traffic to it. Not because I have been lazy, but because I have spent the last week, working on getting the affiliate program up and running. There has been a lot to get done, but it will be all worthwhile in the end! I wanted to at least get the affiliate program online and working, before I spend any time marketing my site. As the affiliate program is almost ready, I will soon be working hard to get my website visible. If you have your own website already, or you plan to build one some time soon, I was hoping you might be interested in seeing what I get up to, in my quest for driving traffic to my website. Here is the 'before' picure... If you check out my site, you will see that it doesn't currently have an Alexa Ranking http://www.alexa.com. The Alexa toolbar will display a traffic ranking whenever you visit a website. With mine, it currently says 'no data'. I'm also not listed on Google at the moment, which means I don't have a Google 'page rank'. The Google toolbar display's a relavancy ranking of between 0-10 when you visit a website. The higher the number the better, as this will help you to gain a higher search engine position. I am currently listed as 'zero'. I also don't have anyone linking to my site yet. Why am I telling you all this? Basically, so that you can see the 'before' picture. As I go along, I'll keep you up to date with what I've done to drive traffic to my site, and how it's improved things. You'll then be able to check my page rank, search engine visibility, and Alexa traffic rank to see the improvements for yourself. As you'll be following me along this traffic hunting journey just a few steps behind, I'm hoping that if I'm successful you might just think: "Hang on a minute, if he can do all that, so can I!" What I will be aiming to do is try and produce as many different traffic generating methods as I can. This way, I won't be relying on one or two particular sources of traffic for all of my traffic and sales. Too many websites rely on a good search engine position for example. Then when Google changes the way they rank pages, all of a sudden they are blown out of the water, with no traffic coming to their website. When I started this newsletter, I really wanted to provide a bit of imspiration for people. You get hit by all these top marketers telling you what you should do, and it all seems so unobtainable. For the average person just starting out, these Guru's just seem so far ahead. Well, I'm here to tell you that you can achieve the success you desire, but it will take a bit of hard work to get things moving in the beginning. Follow me, watch me, see me get knocked down and then get straight back up again and move even further forward the next time. Just remember, I am not doing this so that I can brag about my success to you at the end. I'm doing this to show you that the little guy (or girl) can succeed, and that means you! Keep plugging away, you'll ge there!
