Virtualization and automation are all around us. We unknowingly use them
every day in our servers and PCs, and managing networks would be
impossible without them. Despite decades of success in Operating Systems
and Networking, virtualization and automation are only now being applied
to data storage.

The concept of virtualizing storage allows administrators to abstract
underlying hardware resources such as controllers, disks, storage
networking, and cache to allow for dynamic expansion and rebalancing of
storage resources without disrupting services. However, virtualization
alone creates a new layer for the administrator to manage, usually
requiring a complex calculus of multiple dimensions. This is a problem
for administrators looking to simplify and reduce operations - not
confuse and increase them.

Automation is the tool that makes virtualized storage practical.
Combining automation with virtualized storage empowers administrators
and architects to deploy and maintain far greater quantities and
qualities of storage without increasing operational overhead. Automation
can work overtime - all of the time - to make the necessary adjustments
to optimize and balance storage workloads over hardware assets. As
workloads change and deployments expand, intelligent automated systems
can adapt to become self-tuning and self-adapting.

Attend this eSeminar to learn more about:

   * The benefits of Storage Virtualization
   * How Storage Virtualization can increase storage performance
   * How Storage Virtualization provides the infrastructure for
     hierarchical storage
   * Automation's critical role in Storage Virtualization strategies
