I. Today's Internet Tip: Don't forget the Due Date in TaskPad If you use Outlook for more than e-mail, you're probably familiar with the Calendar folder and its Day/Week/Month view. The TaskPad is also visible on (the lower right-hand area of) this screen. The TaskPad provides you with a customizable view of your Tasks folder so that, on a single screen, you can see your calendar for the day or week, as well as your To-Do list. You can add items to the To-Do list, sort the list, and mark things as completed. Pending items appear in black, overdue items show in red, and completed items display with a line crossed through them. You can also mark your items for various priorities, indicating which tasks have high priority, normal priority, and low priority. All of this is visible on the TaskPad so you can easily tell which tasks need your immediate attention. One important field that is missing from the TaskPad view is Due Date. Without knowing when a task is due, it's harder to prioritize or plan your schedule. To remedy this oversight, right-click the TaskPad header and select Field Chooser from the context menu. Find the Due Date field and drag and drop it onto the TaskPad view wherever you want it (most people place it on the far right). Once this field is on your view, you can add or edit the due dates of any task listed or sort tasks by due dates. Another TaskPad tip: If you change your view to the Month view, the TaskPad disappears. To see the TaskPad, point your cursor at the right border of the folder pane. When the pointer turns into the familiar black double-arrow, hold down your left mouse button and drag the border to the left. This will resize the Calendar page down and expose the TaskPad II.
