Sometime the hand is a guaranteed easy winner. Other times, you have to try your best to turn a bad hand into something useful. >From what Alice Harbaugh of Red Hill, PA, wrote in, her hero has done exactly the latter. Here�s what she had to say. Today's Hero: My hero is my sister-in-law Eileen. She married Rick, a wonderful man, and has 2 sons. Four years ago, about a week before Christmas at a basketball game, Rick had a brain aneurysm. He collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. It looked as if he would not make it. Well, we got our Christmas miracle that year -- Rick pulled through and lived. It seems only a small percentage of aneurysm victims survive. Rick did survive, but he had a long road ahead to recovery. Finding the right dosage of different medicines, doctors� appointments, healing, etc. Rick is unable to work again. Eileen has taken all of this in stride. She has handled this extremely well. She works full time and takes excellent care of her husband, children and home. She finds time to participate in school activities, sports and family and a lot of friends. Even when my husband was having a health crisis, Eileen still found time to call and offer any advice and help. She is so energetic and positive, I am in awe of this strong woman. Her oldest son headed off to Notre Dame this year. She is very supportive of him and of course proud. She is a completely awesome woman. The best thing we can be is the hero of another.
