How do I get pinecones to stay in place in an arrangement? Leanne,
Maribou, AL
--Wind floral wire around pinecone, just above lower "petals," leaving
a 4" tail of wire. Wind wire up through next two layers, concealing it
as well as possible. Wind wire back to base in the same way. Twist
ends together to form a "stem." Use stem to wire pinecone into
arrangement.

II. Great Tips For Today

Tip 1 - Punch - y Order
For the lady with all the punches, you can organize them by sort
(birthday, plant, animal, etc.). To remind yourself which ones are in
which boxes, just punch out one of each and glue it to the box it is
in. You may need to use smaller boxes so the weight isn't a problem.
Or you could use one of those bins with the little drawers that you
can get in the hardware store. They use them for storing nails screws
and such and come in different sizes so you should be able to find one
to fit the size of the punches. They will look more organized, too.
You could even put in all the leftover punch-outs in the drawer as
well for future use. Hope this is a help.

Tip 2 - Easy Displays
This can be very simple! All you need is a board or a piece of plywood
and some nails! For each punch, put 2 nails to hang it between and
space each set of 2 nails so that you have room between punches. This
also works for spools of thread and other sewing supplies. Another
possibility would be to take a piece of canvas and pieces of clear
vinyl and make something like the shoe rack that you can hang over a
door. Either one of these methods should give you some ideas of a
system that will work for you! And you can add labels at your
discretion! Happy Organizing!
