BT must be hoping this little maxim is true. The telco's offer of a free flight to the US or Europe to any new broadband customer has hit problems. It's early days, and BT insists that everything will be resolved, but the episode does invite comparison with the Hoover fiasco of the early 1990s. You may remember that Hoover had big problems delivering its own free flight offer, and ended up fighting customers in the courts.
