Hi ladies!! woo we did it!!! Here is the short version of the birth story.
I went in to the hospital to be induced at 8am Wednesday August 25th. When we
got there, my dr wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure the baby was still
in the correct position (as it had been breech earlier in the pregnancy). And
guess what?? it was still breech!! Which suprised us all seeing the day
before during the amnio the baby was in perfect position. anyhow....My dr said she
couldn't induce me and we would have to schedule a c-section for later that
day. Hubby and I sat around until about 2:15 when they came in and said they
were going ot prep me for the c-section. For some reason they decided to do
another ultrasound to make sure of the position of the baby. Well low and
behold he had changed positions. and was now in the correct position. So they
decided to induce me with pitocin *remind you I was already having contractions
at this point* they started the pitocin about 3:30 or so.......everything
seemed to be going good when they came in and said the baby's heartrate was
dropping with every contraction, so my dr decided to break my water to try and speed
things along. that helped some but she was still concerned so they did the
internal monitor of the baby's heart rate and of my contractions, which meant i
was bed bound for the rest of the labor. Contractions were coming and I
Felt the need to push, and began pushing. that was the hardest part. he was so
big, he had a very hard time decending.....which was making his heart rate
drop even more. My nurse came around to me and said Monique if you are going to
get this baby out this way you have to get him out now. I heard the urgency
in her voice which let me know my little man was in some kind of trouble. I
pushed, until his shoulders got stuck, my dr literally had to go in and pull
one arm out so the other could come.....the rest is history....9lbs 5
ounces...21 1/4 inch long. Beautiful head of hair and mommy is so glad thats all
over!!!! All the names we had picked out just didn't fit him for some reason, so we
didn't name him until the day we came home...His name Joel Xavier Anderson.
Alexsandra is adjusting to her little brother, she is so rough!! but she
tries to cuddle and when he is crying she holds her arms out for me to give him to
her....She is sweet. Its an adjustment at home with the 2 of them. but we
are doing just that adjusting. And all is well!! I have also included the
the link to the online nursery so you guys can view the a pic of our newest
addition.
