My name is Erin and I am an american living in France. I have found making friends who feel the same way I do about parenting is very difficult because of cultural differences. I have two boys aged 5 and 3 months. I am breastfeeding and believe in attachment parenting.
I came to France as a childcare worker and fell in love with my husband and his country. I love the lifestyle here except we find we are considered very strict parents here. There doesn't seem to be a lot of discipline. My grandmother's parents were French and she told me she was never punished and was raised to believe that the world was a wonderful place. I was raised to believe the world was wonderful and was sorely disappointed. I want my boys to understand there are limits and nothing is ever predictable. Anyway, I seek new friends on my new continent.
