Good Housekeeping's Site of the Day

Nostalgia Central
http://www.nostalgiacentral.com

Nostalgia Central was started by Englishman David Turner in 1998 because he 'thought it would be "a good hobby".'  Since that time when there was little nostalgia floating around the Web, 'Nostalgia Central now houses 2GB of information and receives over 1.5 million visits each month from people in the USA, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.'  What a testimony from us oldies-but-goodies seeking the familiar with which we grew up!  The pages are divided into the 60's, 70's and 80's with year-to-year sections within those decades.  Reminisce over the various 'Pop culture,' 'Television,' 'Movies, and 'Music,' as well as a synopsis of the important happenings of the period.  Take a ride down Memory Lane in your Chevrolet Corvair or maybe for you racy folks, the Ford Mustang.  For those of you who really want to capture the period, there is an online forum for contact with other nostalgia buffs!

Reader's Digest CyberSmiles

Dad's pager beeped, summoning him to the hospital, where he is an anesthetist. As he raced toward the hospital, a patrol car sped up behind him -- lights flashing, siren blaring. So Dad hung his stethoscope out the window to signal that he was on an emergency call. Within seconds came the policeman's response: a pair of handcuffs flapping outside the police car window.
