> What kind of person would be interested in the Windows Registry?

------------------------------------------------------------

Is it for techies? Or is it for the curious?

The Windows Registry is a database where all the information about your
computer is stored: everything from colors, installed applications, or
changes you make in Control Panel, are included in the registry database.
If you want to extend the customization of Windows, you'll need to
understand the Registry, and how it works.

Find out now -- no techy skills required!

Gazette Reader Jenine S. writes:

" Dear Dennis,

First and foremost, thank you for providing such a commendable publication.
I have learned so much from your newsletter since I've been a subscriber.

I just finished reading your article on GuruNet and have found it to be an
invaluable resource (it's so much easier than using Google, and I love
Google)! I have a question, however. "

> Confused about burning CDs?

------------------------------------------------------------

MP3 or Music CD? Data CD, multi-session, ISO, track-at-once, or disc-at-
once? Mixed mode, bootable, Mode 1, Mode 2 or UDF? ISO-9660 compliant or
Joliet file system? What's the difference?

Enough already!

Most CD burning applications are loaded with tons of techno-jargon that
confuse most computer users (let alone, newbies). And with a plethora of CD
formats, creating a CD -- whether it's an audio CD for your car, or a data
CD for your computer -- can certainly prove to be a difficult task.
Thankfully, there's a much easier solution (and you don't need to be a
rocket scientist to use it)!

Gazette Reader Ed M. writes:

" Dear Dennis,

I have a Broadcom 440x10/100 Integrated [Ethernet] Controller built onto my
computer's main board. On the task bar (near my clock), I can see a
computer icon with a red X on top of it. If I hover my mouse over top, it
says 'LAN or High Speed Internet' is disconnected. Could you please
instruct me on how to connect it? "

> Create stunning 3D photo albums in no time flat!

------------------------------------------------------------

InAlbum is an amazing picture organizer that turns ordinary digital photos
into jaw-dropping theme-based photo albums, chalk full of animations,
clipart, and sound.

Presentations can be shared online the web, saved to CD format, made into
screen savers, made into video CDs (animated and playable on the TV),
printed -- and a heck of a lot more.
