Smile on Left�s double-face: foreign experts to quit
In a bid to end the Left-created controversy over their role in India�s planning
process, the five foreign consultants from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank
and McKinsey have offered to resign. The resignation offers were today intimated to
deputy chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia in New York, who is
in town as a key member of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh�s ��dream reform team��
visiting the US. Ahluwalia is likely to accept these resignations.

Cricket board scraps tenders, Zee pads up against Dalmiya
Indian cricket�s two raging battles � for the telecast rights and for the BCCI
presidency � formally merged today. When the BCCI counsel told the Bombay High Court
that the Board was cancelling the controversial tender process, Zee Telefilms chief
Subhas Chandra accused its outgoing president Jagmohan Dalmiya of acting in
��collusion�� with ESPN-Star Sports.

Rajasthan turfs out man who fought corruption
In May this year, Suraj Bhan Singh celebrated a Rajasthan High Court verdict and
thought his fight against corruption was finally over. He figured that a year after
his 22-page ��fictional�� booklet on corruption led to his suspension, the verdict
would force the Rajasthan State Bunkar Cooperative Society to let him do his job
honestly.
