As far as I know, according to many pediatricians they recommend that babys be solely breast/formula fed for six months, however, it may depend on your baby. I tried the six months for my oldest, but it just wasn't enough for him, so I started at three months, my littlest however is 3 months and he still is nowhere near ready.
